PHANEROO~DEVOTION 24th December 2015 WHAT CHURCH OUGHT TO BE II Apostle Grace Lubega
[Ephesians 2:7]; That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
There is a young woman who was a prostitute and got Born Again. The pastor’s son took her to his parents, introducing her as a potential spouse and said the Lord had spoken to him regarding his relationship with her. The father was quiet; the mother said ‘no, that’s not God. We know she is transformed but let her look for other transformed people who were like her.’ In other words, the grace of the mother had run out. She can believe in the grace of God to change someone but that person can never be good enough for her son. The end of the story for the girl was that she was a prostitute and God ought to give her someone who was also once a prostitute but changed; not this woman’s son because he had kept a clean slate all his life.
Do you know the implication of this? She had the spirit of the elder brother in the prodigal son’s story. For some people, even if you are forgiven by God, you will stay with a certain mark in their head. I used to think of people that way but as I grew closer to God, I stopped to judge men.
There is a girl I prayed for and she got healed of HIV. When she did, she went back whoring. She got HIV the second time. Still I prayed for her and she got healed. She did the same thing the third time, still I prayed for her and she was healed. This was on record because we had the results for before and after she was prayed for. I got annoyed and I went to God and asked ‘why have you healed this young woman three times?’ I wanted her to feel the sickness for a moment. I assumed that God thinks the same way that I think.
I used to think the grace of God has limits but that woman got healed three times. Even that one was on God’s program. Some people think that this means that we are encouraging people to do whatever they want. No. What it means is that the grace of God is without bounds.
