PHANEROO~DEVOTION 1st April 2016 Apostle Grace Lubega
And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart [2 Samuel 6:16].
LESSONS IN VIRTUE I:
I have come to notice a sad truth among women in our day. A very big percentage of children who despise their fathers got that attitude from their mothers. There are some things about the father that, as a mother, you should not tell the child. Your child needs that father figure in her life. It does not matter whether he was not at best in his behaviour, he is still your child's father and the love of God must cover the multitude of sins.
But even more importantly, when you teach a girl child to despise her father, she may not know how to relate with her husband in the future. She must know how to answer her husband, how to treat him, how to react when she is dealing with her head. Many girls do not know how and these are the smallest things that kill marriages.
Indeed your husband might have mistreated you and made a mess of your life but if these things are not obvious to your child, spare the child those details. Endeavour to present her father as a human being too because that will teach her to respect the authority of her husband.

GOLDEN NUGGET: A very big percentage of children who despise their fathers got that attitude from their mothers. There are some things that as a mother, you should not tell your child.
PRAYER: Lord we thank you for the wisdom with which we bring up our children. We thank you that it can only be after a pattern of love, maturity and purity, that their future is never a reflection of our mistakes but of the best lessons learned; of respect; of submission; of forgiveness. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
