PHANEROO~DEVOTION 2nd April 2016 Apostle Grace Lubega
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord [Romans 6:11].
WE ARE DEAD UNTO SIN
When God says reckon ye yourselves dead unto sin, he didn’t mean try to die or kill your body. To reckon is to think, to consider. There is a power that comes when a man starts to think himself dead indeed unto sin but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
If you face sin, settle it in your spirit that it is tempting a dead body. Dead people do not steal, they don’t kill, and they don’t lie. Instead of understanding the truth of this death, some Christians cast attention to how alive they are in the flesh to fight sin, and thereof reap corruption.
The power was in the death because by that death we have been made alive unto God. That is why to Paul, when asked whether we should continue to sin that grace may abound, he does not say, 'NO' only, but he further asks, HOW can we that are DEAD to sin live any longer therein?
When a man asks, should we sin that grace may abound, that is a man who is still alive because he even remotely entertains the possibility that he should sin. Child of God, you are dead to sin. The life that follows after that death is the resurrected life of Christ; the life above sin, praise him forever more.

GOLDEN NUGGET: If you face sin, settle it in your spirit that it is tempting a dead body because you are dead unto it.
PRAYER: God we thank you for the life that we carry in you; a life free from sin. We thank you because we are alive unto you; that the life we have in you is the very testimony of the victory we carry over sin. Thank you because this truth illuminates our spirits, and is the reality by which we overcome. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
