[Daniel 6:3]; Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.

I have known Christians who will for example leave the choir and never return to church again because there is a sister who is given the microphone to lead worship every Sunday yet they think they have a better voice than her, but are not given the same opportunity. Such don’t have excellence in their spirits. Understand this; when the spirit of excellence settles on you, even if you sit at the back, men will still seek you, move you from there and put you at the front.

When the spirit of excellence is upon you, it doesn’t matter if you have a nice voice yet they don’t give you the microphone or that you are deep yet are not given the opportunity to preach. Excellence sets men away from any form of competition.

When a Cristian still competes with fellow Christians, wants to sing better, preach better, testify better, show that he knows better and even rebukes his man of God, that Christian will not grow because the first thing that excellence places on a man’s spirit is contentment and godliness. God quicken you to walk in the truth he sets before you today...Amen!!!

Excellence sets men away from any form of competition.

Mat 9:14 Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?

You will agree with me if I said that prayer, fasting and studying scripture are very expedient exercises in every Christian's life if growth and maturity in God is to be experienced. The problem is, many times people carry wrong mindsets about these three forms of exercise. Today am talking about fasting. Now first thing you have to know is that fasting never moves God towards you or your need.

Fasting moves you to receive all that God has blessed you with. God has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness 2 Peter 1:3 and has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places. Ephesians 1:3. Therefore, all Christians stopped lacking from the day they gave their lives to Christ. But God is a Spirit John 4:24, and when he was blessing us, he gave us spiritual blessings Eph 1:3 yet we need to use them in the physically.

It is pointless to poses the healing provided by the stripes of Christ if you still carry sickness in your body. Now what makes these spiritual blessings given us of a spirit God physical is faith. It makes the spiritual blessings and no lack we have physical Consequently moving you in what God gave you rather than moving him to you. So fasting and the word help you in your faith without which, spiritual blessings are not made physical. Now you are made of the spirit, soul and body 1Thessalonians 5:23.

Your spirit is after God and everything in him. Your spirit perfectly understands and knows the spiritual blessings God has given you but your body does not. Your spirit is contrary to your flesh and your flesh contrary to your spirit. Galatians 5:17 Therefore, the testimony of your spirit is not the same with that of your flesh and the more you are yielded to the flesh or spirit will manifest its results in your life.

So every time you fast, you are denying the flesh its desires and needs and declaring that you are not driven by it. Problem comes in when people only abstain from food. You declare that you are not driven by the flesh and that is it. You are still not yielded and leaving by anything. You have to leave by the word in studying scripture or prayer. Man does not live by bread alone BUT by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Matthew 4:4.

From the mouth of God, there are words like you are rich 2Cor 8:9, you were healed 2 Peter 2:24, the lines have fallen on you in pleasant places and you have a goodly heritage Psalm 16:6, goodness and mercy follows you all the days of your life Psalm 23:6, all things work together for the good of you ROM 8:28, if God be for you, who can be against you ROM 8:31, no weapon fashioned against you shall prosper Isaiah 54:17 etcetera. When you fast, pray and study the word, you are yielding and consequently moving in those truth and more. So men ought to always fast, not to move God but to move in what God has done for them.

PHANEROO~DEVOTION 18th March 2016 KISSING MOTHER & FATHER II Apostle Grace Lubega

[1 Kings 19:19-21]; So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.  And he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow thee. And he said unto him, Go back again: for what have I done to thee? And he returned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen, and slew them, and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen, and gave unto the people, and they did eat. Then he arose, and went after Elijah, and ministered unto him.

The mandate of a spiritual authority in your life is primarily  to reproduce himself in you and pray that you do better than them. He should not seek his own but  fruit that abounds to your account. The Bible says consider every word that has been spoken to you, knowing from whom you learn(2 Tim 3:14). The people we learn from are not seeking favour or any advantage from us. They do not lose when we walk out; another will walk in who needs what is upon their lives if they are walking upright with God.

However, it is painful to every spirit of a father who realizes that he must reproduce himself when he sees this child he saw as a gift to the body of Christ and laid hands on him, but finds the same child in the same state years later. He is not advancing anywhere and the father cannot trust him with anything. Such a one cannot even be moved to do much in the kingdom because he is comfortable tending over oxen than redeeming nations.

Most of the people who rise up in ministry did not just wake up one morning and found themselves where they are now.  When the spiritual men and women sought to reproduce something in their spirits, they responded. They knew what was done to them. Hands were not laid upon you for you to fall down, get abit dirty and go back home and come back the next Sunday for the same thing. It's what you got up with that matters, Understand what was done to you.

Elijah was testing Elisha to see whether he knew what had been done to him. When the mantle was placed on Elisha, the instruction actually was, ‘follow me’. The Hebrew word for mantle is "addereth". This word is directly translated to mean glory or magnificence. When he cast his mantle on Elisha, he was basically saying, ‘you are a prophet but I have cast something that is on my life on you’. He cast on him what made Elijah more brilliant than the 7000 who were hidden.

There were seven thousand others, yes, but they were hidden. I wish these 7000 also stopped rain and raised the dead, but they were just hidden. We don’t even know their names. Elijah realized that even though these guys were prophets, he wanted to produce someone in his own line. There are other prophets but God wants to get a certain kind of prophet. There are other teachers but he wants to get a certain kind of teacher. There are other preachers but he wants to get a certain kind of preacher. There are other worshippers but he wants to get a certain kind of worshipper. This thing can only be done by the casting of a mantle. Unfortunately, when this is done, the child says, ‘oh, let me go back and kiss mother.’ He will do so because he does not understand what was done to him.

The Christian asks, ‘I have been hearing this message but why is it not working in my life?’ You went back and kissed your mother while the others slaughtered their oxen and destroyed what was previously valuable to them.  Elisha was looking after animals but the moment the mantle was cast upon him, he burnt these animals like they were no longer important to him. Child of God, understand that there is a reason why the hand was placed upon you that day, a reason as to why they spoke upon your life and said you are a prophet, an apostle or a miracle worker. Why are you not seeing any results after all this while? You went back to "kiss your mother."

[Jeremiah 1:5]; Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

If he says ‘before you existed in your mother’s womb I knew you’, it means there is a certain entity you were and nature that you carried before you were in your mother’s womb.  Before your father and mother met to make you, you existed.

God tells you, ‘I knew you and called you to be a prophet to the nations.’ This assignment of your life is older than you are in the flesh, the only challenge is that you don’t remember that time before your mother's womb and can’t confirm that you actually existed save by the scriptures.  The purpose of the gospel is to remind you of that life you had before you were born. If the mind of Christ can’t take you to that place where you were known before you were born, any appointments on the earth are going to be "human effort" to fulfill God’s grace upon your life.

What makes the gospel what it is, is the fact that it takes you back to the place where he called you and makes plain the reason why. It takes you to the place where before you thought of education or any institution, he called you to be a prophet unto nations. Nations is plural not just one.  Whether there is a visa or not; whether there is a ban on any nation or not; He called you. God’s mind towards you is bigger than your expectations, your age, it is bigger than your salary, It is bigger than all your  educational back ground or whoever you could have favour with...may your knowledge of him  radiate his knowledge of you as in a mirror. Amen!!!

[Proverbs 18:16]; A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.

Sometimes you must understand that in this life, you are going to have only one life changing opportunity as regards to some things. This is so even in this service of the gospel. That is why some of us do not play when it comes to the gospel because we know that sometimes, there is one opportunity that can change your life for good.

The famous preacher Dr. T.D Jakes speaks of a time when Paul Crouch was flipping through television channels and stumbled upon this young man preaching. That was the day Paul made a decision to  get Jakes onto TBN and has never left it. It was a seven minutes clip and if it were wasted in cheap talk and shallow discourse, T.D Jakes might never have gotten on TBN.

That is why you owe a certain accountability to every pulpit and any opportunity the Lord has given you, to know how to maximize and utilize the window he has set before you, if the room has been opened by your gifting.  Men can come to you because of the gifting but they are not going to stay because you are gifted. They will find other gifts.

What validates you and draws men to you and to stick around is not just because you can preach a deeper sermon than another, but because they feel they can grow by you, because it goes beyond the one meal that they have eaten but what they must eat for them to become the men that they must be.

This is one of the principles that the Lord teaches you in the rooms for you to break out and to expand because it's by the same influence you start to have more effect in the spirit realm. That is what sustains our rooms, expands them and multiplies them.

[Proverbs 18:16]; A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.

Child of God you must understand that even though your gift creates room, it does not sustain you in the room. Simply because the gift brings a man before great men, it does not mean that it gives him the place of favour with the same men forever.
Even though the gifting of God upon your life makes room for you, it does not fill the room for you. You provide for what fills your room. That room is translated as opportunity-this is what is called the room.

I want to submit to you that every room opened by the gifting is temporal, it is not a permanent experience. If you stay permanently in that particular room, you will get to a point when you will no longer be relevant when other men’s rooms are expanded. Sooner or later we get tired of particular rooms even though our giftings opened them. We always get tired of rooms because God is simply not static, he is dynamic, it's a glory to glory testimony. There was a time you ministered to ten and you were happy and could say, ‘can you believe the people who attended were many?’ Then you later graduated to ministering to more numbers.

Every man must have this mind; if my gift has given me a room, what must I do in that room? Some people think that growing and shining in these things of the spirit is about depth of preaching but then they wake up and realize that there is more in this life than just preaching a deep sermon. You will judge against depth, only to realize that the spirit world has a particular character that sustains men in their rooms, and the most cardinal is knowledge, a perfect and complete knowledge of God..
