PHANEROO~DEVOTION 2nd April 2016 Apostle Grace Lubega

Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord [Romans 6:11].

WE ARE DEAD UNTO SIN

When God says reckon ye yourselves dead unto sin, he didn’t mean try to die or kill your body. To reckon is to think, to consider. There is a power that comes when a man starts to think himself dead indeed unto sin but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

If you face sin, settle it in your spirit that it is tempting a dead body. Dead people do not steal, they don’t kill, and they don’t lie. Instead of understanding the truth of this death, some Christians cast attention to how alive they are in the flesh to fight sin, and thereof reap corruption.

The power was in the death because by that death we have been made alive unto God. That is why to Paul, when asked whether we should continue to sin that grace may abound, he does not say, 'NO' only, but he further asks, HOW can we that are DEAD to sin live any longer therein?

When a man asks, should we sin that grace may abound, that is a man who is still alive because he even remotely entertains the possibility that he should sin. Child of God, you are dead to sin. The life that follows after that death is the resurrected life of Christ; the life above sin, praise him forever more.

FURTHER STUDY: Romans 6:1-3, Romans 6:8

GOLDEN NUGGET: If you face sin, settle it in your spirit that it is tempting a dead body because you are dead unto it.

PRAYER: God we thank you for the life that we carry in you; a life free from sin. We thank you because we are alive unto you; that the life we have in you is the very testimony of the victory we carry over sin. Thank you because this truth illuminates our spirits, and is the reality by which we overcome. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

PHANEROO~DEVOTION 1st April 2016 Apostle Grace Lubega

And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart [2 Samuel 6:16].

LESSONS IN VIRTUE I:

I have come to notice a sad truth among women in our day. A very big percentage of children who despise their fathers got that attitude from their mothers. There are some things about the father that, as a mother, you should not tell the child. Your child needs that father figure in her life. It does not matter whether he was not at best in his behaviour, he is still your child's father and the love of God must cover the multitude of sins.

But even more importantly, when you teach a girl child to despise her father, she may not know how to relate with her husband in the future. She must know how to answer her husband, how to treat him, how to react when she is dealing with her head. Many girls do not know how and these are the smallest things that kill marriages.

Indeed your husband might have mistreated you and made a mess of your life but if these things are not obvious to your child, spare the child those details. Endeavour to present her father as a human being too because that will teach her to respect the authority of her husband.

FURTHER STUDY: Proverbs 22:6, Ephesians 5:22

GOLDEN NUGGET: A very big percentage of children who despise their fathers got that attitude from their mothers. There are some things that as a mother, you should not tell your child.

PRAYER: Lord we thank you for the wisdom with which we bring up our children. We thank you that it can only be after a pattern of love, maturity and purity, that their future is never a reflection of our mistakes but of the best lessons learned; of respect; of submission; of forgiveness. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

PHANEROO~DEVOTION 31st March 2016 WATERING CAMELS Apostle Grace Lubega

[Proverbs 11:25]; The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

The Bible tells the story of Abraham and how he sought to find a wife for his son Isaac. Abraham prayed that the angel of his Lord would go ahead of his servant. The servant asked the Lord that whoever would give him water but also give water to his animals, that would be the wife that the Lord had chosen for his master’s son. When Rebecca came to the well that day, she did exactly that.

Now many people don’t understand that Rebecca didn’t go out to the well that day seeking for a man or a husband; she just attended to the man of God and gave water to his camels. Saints we ought to learn how to 'water camels' in the spirit realm. In that way you are positioning yourself for the opportunity, the contract, marriage, promotion or increase.

Yes child of God, you should recognise you're doing all these things that you must do for divine purpose, God’s ministry. It shouldn't be because you want a job or want to be noticed, you’re not even looking for a husband. In fact, when you look around, Mr. Handsome might not even be there and people are starting to wonder whether you are in your right mind but you are fetching water anyway.

Just like Rebecca, you might pursue one thing but find yourself getting another and more in the presence of the Almighty. That is called, “stumbling upon things” in the spiritual realm. It is allowed. Just water those camels; simply water the camels!!!

PHANEROO~DEVOTION 30th March 2016 PATTERNS OF DILIGENCE Apostle Grace Lubega

[Proverbs 22:29]; Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.

Any man who wants to walk in blessing must be a diligent spirit. The Bible says the thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want. This means that even the thoughts of a diligent man are anointed with greatness. They attract prosperity, success and plenty.

When a man has a diligent spirit, he cannot stand before mean people, mean men are far away from him. If there are many mean people in your life; mean bosses or mean supervisors, you ought to perhaps question whether you are diligent. If you are diligent, God will create another generous and favour filled hand to feed you.

Most people are in lack because they do not have diligent spirits. In this life, some people toil with so many things without direction and remain in a state of perpetual need. Others perfected their craft and never really do much but have plenty. The difference is in their diligence.

The spirit of diligence is that of the man who has made up his mind to do something in the true order of the spirit. He is one who is regular in so doing and is committed to finish it no matter the circumstances. Diligent spirits do not quit; they do not fail. If your mind is made up to do anything, do it.  Diligence empowers your spirit with the ability and the will to do what you have set out to do. Let the skills for doing whatever it is come later. The skills come by grace as instruction and mentorship is given.

However, start with what you know, everything else will fall into place. If you desire to preach the gospel and all you know is that God is a healer, start by telling people about that healing God. Have this heart for the kingdom!!!

PHANEROO~DEVOTION 29th March 2016 Apostle Grace Lubega LESSONS IN VIRTUE IV

[1 Peter 3:1-2]; Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; while they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.

It is possible for a woman to make conversation without words. Some women only understand conversations with words. I have seen this problem in many couples I have talked with.

When you get married to a man, the first thing you submit as a wife are your words. The Bible says that the virtuous woman opens her mouth with wisdom.
There are certain things you should never say to your husband. That is why in the buganda culture, there's a saying that there are certain mouths that cannot ‘cook’ because of the nature of what they speak and how they speak.

I repeat- the first thing you submit is the way you talk back to your husband.
Peter speaks of women as needing to have a chaste conversation. Chaste means disciplined. It means that any woman who is ready to be married must have a disciplined conversation.

Marriages break more quickly because of the way some women speak. Like you don’t talk back to God in an irresponsible manner, in the same way, how you talk back to your husband  is also very important. You are to be subject to him, as unto the Lord(Eph 5:22). This is for your good and it's strength as a helper.

PHANEROO~DEVOTION 28th March 2016 NUMBERING OUR DAYS Apostle Grace Lubega

[Psalms 90:12]; So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

When men do not know the way of the spirit, they lose time and purpose in the mind of eternity. It is why some do not understand what the bible implies when it says teach us to number our days that we might apply our hearts unto your wisdom. There is a wisdom that you can never apply your heart to until your days on earth are numbered.
By numbering, it does not mean that God is going to reveal to you 100% of everything that is to happen as regards your destiny, but rather he will put milestones as guidelines.

Understand this child of God, some of those milestones will be revealed   in your place of submission. Many folk who are not submitted error in this. Remember, God has appointed men to watch for our souls.

There is a grace that comes from submission which causes a spiritual authority in your life to release something on you that will direct you to a particular course in your destiny. This is why Paul says to the Romans that ‘I come to you that I might impart into you some spiritual thing that in the end you might be established.’ The Greek translation therein is ‘I come that I might realign you to a particular course of your destiny.’ Your destiny is partly in the hands of the man you submit to.

PHANEROO~DEVOTION 27th March 2016 THE RULED SPIRIT Apostle Grace Lubega

[Proverbs 16:32]; [He that is] slow to anger [is] better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.

Many men know how to rule their souls and they can rule their bodies long enough to qualify them to walk straight in the body, yet they are infants by the spirit. They might use their spirits to tame their bodies but not have the wisdom of tamed spirits.

The Bible says that he that has no rule over his spirit is like a city that is broken down without walls. It also says that a man who takes over a city is not greater than a man who rules his own spirit.

Every city works with principalities and powers in high places. This is the begining point of one discerning true spiritual war. The Bible says that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world and spiritual wickedness in high places.

The reason why some ministers never go beyond their cities, countries or continents is because they have not learned to rule their spirits. When they fail to go beyond their nations, they assume it is given to them to preach to only their home area. No, God said "go ye into all the world." The mandate is to preach this gospel in Jerusalem, in Judea and the uttermost part of the world. The grace of the gospel must frustrate any limitation for any Christian to move anywhere whether by purpose or desire.

Ruling your spirit is the place that seeks to examine the state of your heart and align it to God and his word. It draws principalities to submission. It will preserve you above principalities.
