PHANEROO~DEVOTION 11th March 2016 OF PERSECUTION Apostle Grace Lubega

[Exodus 1:12]; But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew.

In the Book of Kings, we understand that when Elijah was fleeing from Jezebel and cried to the Lord about how he was the only prophet of God left, the Lord revealed to him that there were 7000 other prophets that had not bowed to Baal. Now understand that there was a reason as to why there were 7000 men who were not bowing to Baal but yet did not catch the attention of Jezebel.  The Lord keeping them from her did not mean that they were better than Elijah. There is a reason why we do not know their names yet we know Elijah and why he is recorded as a prophet in the Book of Kings.

Even though these 7000 existed, they were not of Elijah’s spirit. They could not contend enough to catch the attention of Ahab or Jezebel.  What does this mean? If you are still in ministry and have not yet been persecuted, question your salvation. If you are loved and favoured by everybody, question the mandate of God upon your life because the truth is that the moment glory rests upon you, you will be persecuted (1 Peter 4:14).

In this life, regardless of what you do, some people will never change their opinion about you. Even if you do everything that they want, some people are simply made up to misunderstand, misquote and even at worst hate you with no cause. You just need to understand that all things work together for your good, and that you can or will thrive and grow even amidst persecution; you will go upwards and upwards only.

Excerpt from the sermon: THE RULE OF THE MANTLE by Apostle Grace Lubega

The moment glory rests upon you, you will be persecuted. However, you just need to understand that all things work together for your good, and that you can or will thrive and grow even amidst persecution; you will go upwards and upwards only.

PHANEROO~DEVOTION 10th March 2016 THE PATTERN OF LOVE Apostle Grace Lubega

[Ephesians 4:30-31 AMP]; And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God [but seek to please Him], by whom you were sealed and marked [branded as God’s own] for the day of redemption [the final deliverance from the consequences of sin].Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor [perpetual animosity, resentment, strife, fault-finding] and slander be put away from you, along with every kind of malice [all spitefulness, verbal abuse, malevolence].

What does it mean to grieve the spirit of God? Strife, slander, resentment and fault finding are the starting points for men to really set themselves against the Holy Ghost because the Holy Ghost abides in those who believe, and seeks to reconcile unbelievers to God.

For instance, if I am bitter with a sister, I am bitter with the Holy Ghost and I am grieving him. If I have any indignation against a brother, I am indignant against the Holy Ghost. If I have any wrath against my brother, I have wrath against the Holy Ghost. Resentfulness, having animosity, quarrelling, brawling, anger, evil speaking, abusing each other and going behind each others’ backs is grieving the Holy Ghost. These are the things that kill ministers and ministry.

Paul says pursue peace with all men without which no man shall see God. The reason why many people do not see the anointing of God operating in their lives is because they have grieved men, more so their spiritual authority. Hebrews 13:17 says if you grieve those that have the rule over you, it is unprofitable for you. It means that you literally stop profiting.

Do you really want to see God? Go back to these primary things. How can you want to flow in the gifts of the spirit yet have an issue with the sister in the choir because she said such and such a thing or did this and that? I have seen Christians with such an attitude yet they also want to experience the glory of God. Let me tell you something, the highest level of glory is walking in the patterns of love.

PHANEROO~DEVOTION 9th March 2016 LESSONS IN VIRTUE II Apostle Grace Lubega

[Proverbs 13:22]; A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.

We must understand this wisdom. A good man stores up an inheritance for his children and his children’s children. That means that as a Christian married couple, you must understand that you are planning for three generations; the one you are in, that of your children and that of your children’s children. If you should live long enough and die without leaving enough to preserve your children and your children’s children then you were not wise. That is the truth.

We need to note that most importantly it's not what you leave FOR your children but what you leave IN them that matters most. For example, we have seen people for whom they have left properties but they didn't have the character to sustain them. That is not the right way to leave your children. One wise man once said, "we live to leave a legacy for our children" how true!!!.

The vision we carry as Christians in marriage must be one that goes past our children and unto our children’s children. We have to think; in which world are they going to live? How are they going to be established? How will they increase? What is their education like? Which God will they serve and how? How will they relate with people? Etc.

For example in the financial sense, some parents squander their money and die just like that, they claim that the children will make their own, that is not wise.  A wise man does not make his children build foundations he can build, he rather lays the foundation for them to build on- that is progress. Our Father God laid the foundations for us to live a blessed life. He gave his only son, it's the godly thing.

Your children must start better than you did as a parent in all spheres of life.
Teach the same to your children so that when they grow up, they also invest IN and FOR their children and children's children. If you teach that to your son and your son teaches that to his children, that is a great lineage; that is a story; that is true legacy.

PHANEROO~DEVOTION 8th March 2016 CHRISTIAN DISCIPLINE II Apostle Grace Lubega

[Luke 14:8-9]; When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him; And he that bade thee and him come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room.

The scriptures teach us not to think of ourselves higher than we ought, we should never fight for places in anything. All that matters is that you are doing your best by God's grace and not competing with others. I have been to meetings where the choir is invited to sing and the person with the worst voice gets the microphone because they simply want to lead. Much as in its own it's not wrong, neither is it also mature if you don't understand why you are leading. If you know there is someone better, give honour to whom honour is due.

Excellence does not rob you of a future opportunity simply because you gave another man the present opportunity. It grants you a certain esteem that is so much higher than the thought that if a man took your opportunity, he would rob you of your true blessing and rank.

Be delivered from the thought that because a man has denied you an occasion then God has also denied you that occasion too. Be delivered. Know who you are; who called you. If one door closes, another will open. This God can break through the ground and get you out of anywhere. That is why you should never seek to compete or prove to men that you have or can do something better than another man, that is not how we learned Christ, his love constrains us to give more over than receive...Bless his name forever more!!!

PHANEROO~DEVOTION 7th March 2016 CHRISTIAN DISCIPLINE I Apostle Grace Lubega

[1 Timothy 3:6]; Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

There are things that happen only to teach us the most cardinal lessons of our life. You tell a young man that he is an anointed singer and so you give him an opportunity to sing.  When he gets the microphone the moment he gets onto the pulpit, he thinks he is serving his own opportunity without understanding the spirit and vision that put him up there or how that spirit drew the people before whom he stands.

The next thing you know is that the one who was invited to sing is preaching not under conviction but with the preposterous mind simply to prove that he can also preach. Before they play the CD, he starts, ‘the book of Jeremiah says…’ and he starts teaching and the next thing you see is that some people are stumbled by his indifference. The instruction was simple, sing. If the instruction is for you to give a testimony, simply give a testimony. Yet for some, before you know it, the young man has preached a whole one hour sermon, no self-control whatsoever, which self-control is supposed to be a fruit of the spirit.

I went for overnights of young men back in the day who stumbled many. They seemed to be mature but sadly they were not. The young man is told that there is an overnight and that there are three preachers, one is preaching from 11pm-12pm, another is preaching from 12pm-1am another is preaching from 1am-2pm. He gets on the pulpit at midnight and preaches up to 2.00 am because he claims that "the Holy Spirit" led him.

You cannot be led of the Holy Spirit and not have self-control. What was at the back of the minds of some ministers is that people had to hear them and acknowledge that they were deep; to understand that they had something to put on the table. Some simply wanted to prove they  could preach better than even the pastor. Some of them left their home churches before the appointed time to go, and started churches elsewhere, life became so hard because they flouted the principles that could have made them great. A man of an excellent spirit will never seek to prove his craft. He will just wait for the opportunity that the Lord will create for him and whether it is in the valley or the village, he will always thrive.

PHANEROO~DEVOTION 6th March 2016 LESSONS IN VIRTUE I Apostle Grace Lubega

[Amos 3:3]; Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

I want to disagree with a certain teaching that asserts that when time comes to get married, you can marry "anybody". Not "anybody" is a suitable partner for you. Never forget that every covenant that people enter into must have certain terms that underlie a particular vision. The Bible says that without vision, people cast away restraint. If the two of you are saying, ‘let us get married’, the question is, ‘why the two of you?’

There are people whom by the time they get married, they have a number of people to pick from. One is Born Again, the other is slightly Born Again, another is this, and another is that. The question is, what is your vision about your life and what has the Lord placed in your spirit before you enter marriage? One of the reasons why some marriages are frustrated is because the spouses do not have a vision.

As a couple, you must sit down and ask yourselves, what is our vision? There are many people who really don’t have a vision; they just love each other; even though that is wonderful, there ought to be more.   Christianity is a vision, so as a couple, there must be something in God you both see, can stand for and are ready to die for.

God did not bring you in this world only to make money; the people of this world also make money too, he did not bring you in this life only to build a nice house and drive a nice car, the people of this world will have nice cars and houses too. Two cannot walk together unless they agree and the place of agreement is the vision. For the Christians who are serious about salvation, a married couple must see themselves in the general vision of the Church because they are a part of the body.
This is the spark that ought to keep your marriage because it's established on the eternal experience of simply living together for God...That should be the testimony of every married Christian, praise him!!!

Excerpt from the sermon: WHY MARRIAGE? by Apostle Grace Lubega

For the Christians who are serious about salvation, a married couple must see themselves in the general vison of the church because they are a part of the body.
