PHANEROO~DEVOTION Apostle Grace Lubega 11th April 2016

And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart [2 Samuel 6:16].

LESSONS IN VIRTUE III

David was a man after God’s own heart.  He loved God. Since he was a young boy, he said, he would never rest until the glory of God was brought back to Israel. He married that commitment unto his God before he married Michal, she should have understood it. Michal should have come as a help meet, not a despiser.

Amazingly, the Bible does not tell us that the people of Israel despised the king as he danced. The only indifferent one in the story was the wife. If you know that as a woman you are supposed to be the helper, if you see your man naked ‘Michal’ cover him.
If your husband does something you do not agree with, but is in the scope of what is permissible, do not go everywhere talking about it, and disapproving of him but tell him, "I do not really agree with you in this matter, but since you are my husband, my role is to support you, let us do it." If he hits the wall on the same issue, I promise you, next time he will heed to your opinion.  But if you choose to despise him, because of ego, he will never seek your opinion again. Remember he is your leader. He goes before you. Do not frustrate the ranks simply because you are perhaps more educated, rich, or of any other advantage above him.

GOLDEN NUGGET: If you know that as a woman you are supposed to be the helper, if you see your man naked ‘Michal’ cover him.

PRAYER: Father we thank you for this knowledge. Thank you for it lights our hearts and illuminates our spirits. Thank you because any woman that reads it will understand her ministry as a true helper; that she will seek to cover and never to expose; to lift and never to bring down; to celebrate and never to despise, indeed do him good all the days of her life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
