PHANEROO~DEVOTION 25th October 2015 Apostle Grace Lubega BROTHERLY LOVE II

[1 Samuel 24:6]; And He said unto his men, the Lord forbid that I should do this thing unto my master, the Lord's anointed, to stretch forth mine hand against him, seeing He is the anointed of the Lord.

When Samuel anoints David, David became sad. Samuel asked him why he was sad and whether he did not know that God had left Saul.  Samuel did not understand why David was sorrowful.

There are people who are detached from the heart of the Spirit of God but they are gifted in the things of God. That is Jonah's problem. His problem is not delivering prophecy. Rather it is the fact that he knows God is too merciful. He tells God, ‘I know you. I will take the prophecy and they will repent. When they repent, you will forgive them and they will look at me as a liar.’ That disturbs Jonah's spirit. He is more zealous over you dying because he said so than you repenting.

There are people who would rather have you fail because they said that you would fail. This is what Samuel expects. He thinks that when he anoints David, David will dance and rejoice that he is becoming King. However, David is sad because he is a man after God's own heart. He willeth that no man should perish because passionate to the Lord is the death of his dear ones.

In the story, we find that Saul looks for David to kill him and David hid. In the night, he came to Saul and he didn't kill him even though he had the opportunity to. He just cut the skirt of his cloth and left. In the morning, he came with the cloth and asked for forgiveness for having cut Saul's cloth for he ought not to have touched the Lord's anointed one despite the fact that he was told that the anointing had left Saul.

The Christian does not understand why the man wants to show mercy to the one who wanted to kill him; one who had lost the call of God upon his life; one who the Spirit rejected.

Those are things Christians need to know. If they don't know these things, they will build churches tomorrow and beat their fathers. Having smote their fathers, they sow the seed of their sons rising up against them. Because they don't teach their sons these things too, this becomes perpetual.  Then we have a generation that is beaten.

When you enter into the hearts of ministers or Christians, the deepest wounds in church have come from Christians within the same church; the gossip came from church; the one who failed you came from church; the one who failed your child came from Church. Everyone that did an evil thing came from church. That is why we sit in churches as though we are in a taxi. There is no brotherly love. God help us.
