[John 8:32]; And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.

The reason why we have a problem with religion is because of its deliberate but indirect way of taking men to bondage because of ignorance.

The primary place of bondage is a place where men are ignorant. The bible is very clear; it says you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free. When you see Christians who are not walking in the liberty of the spirit, it is because they are bound by reason of ignorance.

That is why Paul tells the church at Ephesus; “This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart."

It means that it is actually possible for a Christian to walk like a Gentile despite being a Jew. When the human heart is blind, there comes forth ignorance and that ignorance separates men from the life of God and darkens the understanding of men, and hence Christians start to walk as other Gentiles.

There is a distinctive difference between a born again Christian and a Gentile. The only challenge with what has actually weighed Christianity is because in the church of Christ, there exist more Christians than there are disciples. Christianity is more of a brand to the people than a life in them. They think Christianity is a brand to be identified with but without the understanding of the life which is inside them.

For example, I once had a conversation with a Christian who told me that despite being a Christian, he was a realist. He said he believed in God, but that if he had to be protected from malaria, he had to use a mosquito net. Incidentally, that is how some people think. They can accept the doctor's report on advanced cancer and choose to die with it as they take medication.

Sometimes they actually claim that it is God's will for them not to be healed. That is what they call reality. Reality is that they are sick or broke. No. Faith is reality! That is why the bible says "When Christ (your real life, remember) shows up again on this earth, you'll show up, too; the real you, the glorious you.”

Our reality is Christ and not the things that we see. Anything that defines you out of Jesus Christ, no matter how real it is presented, is not real. Unfortunately, there is a Christian who easily accepts the things outside Christ as reality. It ought not to be so. The moment you enter Christ, your realities must change.
